The Fabric
Pure natural cotton — breathable, absorbent, soft — the fabric of Rajasthan's most graceful tradition.
Air flows freely through the natural fiber structure — ideal for warm Rajasthani summers.
Cotton readily wicks moisture, keeping you cool, comfortable, and dry all day.
A relatively resilient fabric, built to withstand daily wear without losing its character.
A natural, renewable resource — a conscious choice for those who care about what they wear.
About Us
We exist because fast fashion has no memory. Maharaja was born to slow down — to honour the Chhipa community's 400-year-old block-printing heritage of Bagru Village, and stitch it into silhouettes a modern man can truly live in.
Every piece is a small act of preservation. Of the artisan's hand. Of natural dyes pressed into cotton. Of Rajasthan's colour, carried quietly into your wardrobe.
New Collection
Block-print menswear rooted in 400 years of Rajasthani craft.
Most Loved
Pieces that sold out and came back. Our most celebrated block prints.
What They Say
The quality of the block print is unlike anything I've found online. You can feel the craft in every thread. Wore it to a wedding — got compliments all evening.
Finally a kurta brand that takes fabric seriously. The Mal Cotton is so light for summer. Ordered two more the same week.
Bought the half sleeve shirt as a gift for my father. He hasn't stopped wearing it. The print hasn't faded after 6 washes. Exceptional quality.
Wearing Maharaja feels like wearing a piece of Rajasthan. The colours are vivid, the cotton is soft, and the fit is perfect. Will be a loyal customer.
The packaging itself felt like a gift. Inside — a beautifully folded kurta that smells of natural dye. This is what slow fashion should look like.
The Craft
Block printing is not a process — it is a prayer. Each step, unchanged for 400 years.
Artisans hand-carve intricate motifs into aged teak wood. Each block takes days to perfect — a single mistake means starting over. These blocks last generations.
Natural pigments — indigo, pomegranate rind, turmeric, iron oxide — are prepared fresh each morning. No synthetic dyes. No shortcuts. The colour must earn its place.
The block is dipped, aligned by eye, and struck with the palm. One impression at a time. The slight variations are not flaws — they are the proof of a human hand.
Printed cloth is washed in the Soni River and laid across Bagru's sandy ground to dry under the Rajasthani sun. The heat sets the colour deep into every thread.
